Forson Dexta tractor & New Idea manure spreader trailer for sale with mikeedge.co.uk
Welcome to the sale of my Fordson Dexta and New Idea manure speeder/trailer.
Having checked through the Dexta’s serial numbers and deduced this tractor was produced in 1960, I haven’t a V5 log book to confirm though.
Originally supplied by Furrows of Shrewsbury to a local Whixall farm, it has remained in Whixall from new. Ownership changed approximately 20/25 years ago to the neighbouring small holding, and then onto myself, all within the parish of Whixall.
Although I drove the tractor home it hadn’t been serviced for many years, so I set about it, cleaning, flushing out and replacement of filters and oil etc. I have also replaced the fuel primer for the cold start to ensure this little tractor does start on a cold morning.
List of works carried out –
Flush out engine oil, clean sump gorse, replacing engine oil and filter.
Drain fuel tank, replace tank filter, primer tap, clean out lift pump, re-fill including injector cleaner.
Adjust valve clearances.
Top up Anti freeze.
Replace air filter oil.
Check rear end oil levels.
Make number plate.
Strip out and clean/adjust rear brakes.
Replace front grills and exhaust silencer.
The above works have improved the running, it does start and run well, it does spot oil as almost all do! My Dexta isn’t a painted beauty, its an ordinary very original little tractor that should serve its new owner well.
The New Idea manure trailer is included in this sale, this is in lovely condition, someone has spent plenty of time and money on this and it shows, new tyres, all metalwork painted, the wood has been replaced and looks tidy, not new, please take a look.
Please watch my detailed video tour, you can hear it and see much more detail –
What more can I say?
This is a very original local tractor, its not perfect but feel the price reflects that. I do know these little workhorses are currently under valued, sit on this and your money will grow for sure.
I have priced these items to sell, for more details please call Mike Edge on 07811 698250.
Viewing is welcomed and encouraged please call to arrange.
I would consider PX for something classic, either way, again please call to discuss.
