Strategic Use of IP in the Food Industry



Foley’s Web Conference on June 5, 2014 discussed Strategic Use of IP in the Food Industry. We examined why effectively protecting product configurations via design patents and trademarks is not limited to smartphones (think of Apple v. Samsung). Using a commercially successful food product as an example, presenters illustrated the overlapping design patent and trademark protections for product configuration.
